One of the main reasons for starting up our own business is to do something that we truly love, something that we are passionate about. It makes our work take on meaning, and leaves us feeling that we are doing something of value. In order to align our business with our greater purpose, it’s important to connect what we do to our heart and core values. This tends to be easy when we are first starting out, but can sometimes get lost in our day to day activities. So how do we stay true to having a heartfelt business that our perfect customers will be attracted to? The answer is gratitude.
Gratitude is one of the most powerful forces in the universe. Deliberately taking the time to be thankful for what we have is the easiest way to create a positive mindset and invite abundance into our lives. It works the same way with our business. If we want to be successful in our business, we must be grateful for everything that we have already achieved, both big and small. Focusing on the positive reminds us of how far we’ve come and gives us the confidence that we can realize our dreams.
One daily practice that can easily be implemented is to carve out a few minutes at the beginning of the workday to connect to gratitude. 3-5 minutes is all you need to get started, so this should be really easy to commit to. Close your eyes and center yourself with some deep breaths. Then take a moment to think about your greatest achievements in your business so far… it could be thinking about your favorite client, receiving your biggest check in the mail, launching your website, or even just putting together the idea for your business if you’re just getting started. The point is to think about your milestones and allow a huge smile to spread across your face, while the gratitude starts welling up in your heart. Then say the words “Thank you, thank you, thank you for…” – Continue repeating this with all of the things you’re grateful for.
It’s amazing how quickly this practice puts you in a good mood. You’re starting out your day thinking about your greatest accomplishments which will leave you feeling like it’s going to be a great day. If you want to take this practice a step further, you can add some visualization to start manifesting your greatest business desires. You can actually use gratitude to proactively create the outcomes that you want in your business. Keeping your eyes closed, start thinking about what it is that you want out of your business… it could be more clients, more checks in the mail, closing a big opportunity that you have a meeting for, landing a new class, leading a successful yoga retreat, etc. Visualize the perfect outcome for what you want in as much vivid detail as possible, and allow yourself to feel excited about this great achievement. Then use gratitude to say “Thank you, thank you, thank you for… (the outcome you want).”
The more you practice gratitude, the faster you’ll start to realize more success in your business. Not only will it make you feel good, but by the Law of Attraction, you’ll start attracting the right clients and opportunities to you. It will help you stay connected to your greater purpose and mission for your business, and keep you on track to achieving all your goals.
